Looking for a professional licensed guide at Smith Mountain Lake? Look no farther. We have the right guide for your next fishing adventure. We specialize in matching lake visitors and anglers with the Charter Captain best able to deliver a quality experience. Every customer party is different. Each party is made up of people with different levels of experience, different interests and different expectations. Each Charter Boat Captain is different as well. About the only thing they have in common is a love of the water and a USCG Captains License. We are licensed guides and we know and have fished with or around most of the guides on "Smith Mountain Lake". Each of us offer different amenities, styles of fishing and specialties. Let us help you find the "right Captain" for your next trip. The Virginia Outdoorsman has been booking Fishing Charters with Smith Mountain Lake guides successfully for over 10 years and we have hundreds of repeat customers. We will find the licensed guide who can best meet your individual situation. Whether you are a family with young children on vacation, a local resident who wants to find the right guide for lake visitors, a group of women getting together for a "girls getaway reunion weekend at the lake" or a new angler who wants to learn how to fish local waters... ......we can help you find the Charter Captain who will deliver a quality experience at a reasonable rate. Fishing Seminars And "On-Water Workshops" If you are interested in learning how to fish, we also offer seminars on a wide variety of topics. These are fun, hands-on" workshops that cover topics ranging from "Fishing Basics" for the beginning angler to subjects like "Summer Patterns For Bass" for those seeking new techniques or information that will help them improve their success. Seminars topics include: "Live Bait - Catching, Keeping and Fishing With Shad" "Fishing Basics - Knots, Rigs, Tackle and Techniques" "Trolling For Stripers" "Spring Patterns and Artificial Lures" "Finesse Fishing For Bass" "Swimbaits For Success" ........and more. We also offer "On-Water Workshop Charters" as a compliment to our regular classroom seminars. These guided charters afford customers the opportunity to get "hands on" experience with the tackle, fishing equipment and electronics used at Smith Mountain Lake. You will receive the schedule and a brief description of each session. Just decide which of the sessions are of interest and call or stop by the shop to reserve a seat. In order to afford each participant personal attention, we limit each workshop to 15 attendees. Scheduling is on a first come - first served basis and sessions often fill up, so reserve your seat early. To insure the best possible licensed guide, we also suggest you make those arrangements as early as possible. In the peak season, every guide on the lake stays booked for weeks at a time. Many of the guides we work with also have a number of repeat customers who fish with them regularly, so for the best selection......book your trip early.
